From findings to co-creation: the OpenFashion Capacity Building Lab

What skills will fashion professionals need for a greener, more digital and collaborative future? And how can VET providers better respond to these emerging needs?

On 1 October 2026, OpenFashion will bring together project partners, experts and VET/C-VET representatives for the OpenFashion Capacity Building Lab, an online co-creation session designed to turn the findings of the field research into concrete ideas for the next phase of the project.

Through an interactive approach based on active learning, co-design and design thinking, participants will discuss how the OpenFashion capacity-building approach can respond to the real needs of trainers, learners and the fashion sector.

The Lab will focus on key aspects including training content and methods, the structure and features of the learning platform, capacity-building activities for trainers, VET-industry partnerships and skills validation.

The session will also provide an opportunity to explore how open business, open design and co-creation can become practical tools for innovation and collaboration in fashion education.
